Chronology Of The Death Of Jack Marpaung: Having A Stroke Two Years Ago

JAKARTA - Pop Batak singer Jack Marpaung died at the age of 76. He breathed his last at Carolus Salemba Hospital, Central Jakarta on Sunday, January 5.

His son, who is also a singer, Novita Dewi, said that her father had suffered a stroke two years ago. Since then, his condition is said to have continued to decline.

Continuing her story, Dewi said that her father's condition got worse after her other son, who is her sister, left the house to work out of town.

"Since my younger brother, number two, left for Pekanbaru for work, his decline has decreased, he is lonely, that's why he often sleeps at my house," Dewi told the media crew, at the funeral home in Bekasi, Monday, January 6.

"But you often want this house not to be empty. But my papa often says 'I want my bore.' Boru means the princess," he continued.

A few days before he died, Dewi said that his father had a three-day fever at his home, until it was finally decided to be taken to the hospital.

"Suddenly papa has a fever. We think it's because of the flu, got a bacterial infection. It's been three days of fever," he said.

After being treated at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), said Dewi, the doctor in charge had said that Jack's condition was gradually improving, until he was transferred to the inpatient room.

However, Jack's condition worsened again. Dewi even said that her father had stopped breathing, the day before he died.

"But how come it's not responsive enough, until yesterday yesterday the 4th (January) had stopped his breath," said Dewi.

"We've been screaming like that, it's gone, it's critical, the main thing is, I shouted, 'Papi Kasih in half an hour, talk first.' (Want him) to say that, (because) for a few days in the hospital he didn't say anything, "he continued.

However, Jack is still saved. On Sunday morning, Dewi even said that her father's condition had begun to return to normal, although she could not respond to the conversation.

On that day, some guests also came to visit. They even tried to joke to entertain themselves.

However, in the midst of the conversation between Dewi and several guests, her father's condition worsened again, until finally at 18.30 WIB he was declared dead.

"But when we were chatting, the lower the pulse (father). I said 'No, I'll go up again.' My sister, number two right next to papa, said, 'go down here.' But it's typical that she goes up like that, after a while because it hasn't been saved, until zero, "concluded Dewi.
