Finger Injury, Carlos Santana Forced To Postpone Eight Shows

JAKARTA - guitar maestro Carlos Santana was forced to postpone several performances due to injuries to his fingers, which caused him unable to appear to play his flagship instruments.

Meanwhile, the 77 guitarist from Mexico is scheduled to return to Las Vegas, United States to hold a performance at the House of Blues, Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino at the end of January.

Through Carlos Santana's official website, it was announced that eight shows, dated January 22 to February 2, had to be postponed, noting that ticket holders would receive refunds.

In Variety's latest report, Michael Vrionis as President Universal Tone Management revealed that Santana had an incident that injured her finger.

"I'm sorry to say that Carlos is taking a walk at his holiday home in Kauai," said Vrionis.

"He fell hard, and his hat was broken on his left hand. He had to put a peniti on his finger. Unfortunately, he won't be able to play guitar for about six weeks. Doctors say he will fully recover," he continued.

Vrianis said Santana was in good condition, despite injuries. The guitarist only needs time to restore the condition of his finger.

Carlos is in good condition and wants to get back on stage soon. He just needs to recover," he said.

"Accompaniment deeply regrets the delay in his upcoming appearance, but accidents could occur, and his health is our main concern. He hopes to meet all his fans soon."

Although the new date has not been announced, Santana is certain to return to the concert venue which has been planned for nine shows starting on May 14 and ending on May 25. He is also scheduled to take part in the little Oneness Tour which starts on April 16.
