JAKARTA - Sal Priadi is not a new name at the Anugerah Musik Indonesia (AMI) Awards. He has been nominated six times, but not a single one ends in victory.

For Sal, this year is so different. The 32-year-old soloist managed to bring home the first trophy, by coming out as the winner for the Best Pop Male Solo Artist category

Meanwhile, the 'Sun Flower Gala' became a'majmat' of luck that brought Sal home with him the trophy on the peak night of the 2024 AMI Awards which was held at Ciputra Artpreneur, South Jakarta on Wednesday, December 4.

In his winning speech, Sal thanked God and those close to him.

"Hello, assalamualaikum, thank you very much friends, to Allah, to my parents, my family, Sarah (wife), West Sajak (child) at home who are always waiting for me when I work, the people behind the stage who can make me like this," said Sal Priadi.

Not only that, Sal also remembers the moments of the AMI Awards in the past years, when his name was only included in the list of nominations.

Even though he did not win at that time, Sal Priadi admitted that he was very happy. It was also that moment that made him finally agree to move to Jakarta and work here.

The fact that 'Gala Bunga Matahari' as Sal Priadi's best anthem is his current popularity which is so extraordinary.

On Spotify, this song has been played more than 144 million times, almost matching the 'Most Serious Amen', which was performed as a duet song with Nadin Amizah.
