Joe Satriani, Steve Vai And Eric Johnson Announce The Release Of The G3 Reunion Live Album

JAKARTA - The iconic music project, G3 initiated by Joe Satriani will release a new album taken from this year's G3 Reunion Live tour in the United States.

The album features a set from Joe Satriani, Steve Vai and Eric Johnson which will be released worldwide by earMUSIC on January 31, 2025.

The release of this album seems to remind how the three guitar virtuosos started a series of G3 trips around the world in 1996.

The G3 Reunion Live album will feature guitarists playing their musical compositions, such as Steve Vai's Satchie, For the Love of God, and Eric Johnson's Cliffs of Dover.

Not only that, the three of them also played three clock encores, namely 'Crossroads', 'Spanish Castle Magic', and Born To Be Wild.

"Meeting back with Eric and Steve this year, commemorating the first G3 tour of '96, was incredible. They were the first two guitarists I contacted while planning the first G3 trip, so, this reunion is an affirmation of our special relationship," said Joe Satriani, citing Blabbermouth, Thursday, October 24.

Invading the stage with my two favorite music giants, celebrating our common roots and our unique differences, once again proven to be a great formula," he continued.

Steve Vai himself called this reunion a special show that marked the peak of his career as a guitarist.

"Being able to appear with old friends and be in a bright stage environment and communicating at the deepest musical level with friends is a privilege and honor, especially with great players like Eric and Joe, who performed outstanding in these shows," Vai said.

Meanwhile, Eric Johnson called the G3 Reunion Live a place for guitarists to share their musical experiences.

"Playing with Joe and Steve is an affirmation that although we all want to go beyond musical boundaries; we also want to share a heart experience and feeling-filled communication about music that we have enjoyed in our own lives," Johnson said.
