Maribou State Announces Plans For New Albums When Launching Single Otherside

JAKARTA - Maribou State has just announced a plan to release their new album titled Hallucinating Love. This British duo work will be officially introduced starting January 31 next year through the Ninja Tune music label.

Along with the announcement, the duo consisting of Chris Davids and Liam Ivory also released a new single titled "Otherside" featuring vocals performances and their collaborators Total Walker.

Single Otherside was released following the success of a single Blackoak which brought the nuances of Maribou State's distinctive music, complete with various layers of electronic music, combined with live instrumentation and also various vocal layers. Everything departs from the Maribouu State all-catching hook that has won a lot of listeners from around the world.

The album Hallucinating Love is described as an ambitious, energy-filled album, colored by anthems, with beautiful parts of the strings, and vocal performances of their collaborators Holly Walker and Andreya Triana. Their new album easily brings together the intimacy and complexity of Maribou State's music.

"While we are in the middle of writing this album, we envision how much fun it is to be able to get back on stage, to bring everyone together. This album is about being in a dark place, where we are struggling, and looking forward to a bright future," Liam said in a written broadcast received by VOI.

The collaboration process with other musicians resulted in a series of outstanding works, especially when the works were recorded in various British rural areas. Liam and Chris invited many collaborators including producer Jack total and bassist Jonjo Williams. They also formed many small communities wherever they went. The result is music that is colored with a new energy. The first single of their new album, Blackoak was released last year, featuring vocal performances of amateur choirs consisting of their own friends recorded on the stairs of an old house.

The two Maribou State personnel want to present and celebrate typical British electronic music that includes various genres such as jungle to UK Garage, IDM, and nicknames. We've always seemed to hide all this time and prioritize ambiguity and anonymity," Liam said.

"But as we get older, we want to show more about who we really are. It makes sense to finally set our sights on British dance music culture that we are really proud of," he added.

In their darkest days, Maribou State has always challenged themselves and continues to push for their various boundaries of creativity. They enter a new phase in their career with a stronger spirit than ever, not only as producers but as an artist.
