JAKARTA - Tommy Cash, a country musician who is also Johnny Cash's younger brother, reportedly died on Friday, September 13, United States time.

Tommy Cash died at the age of 84.

The news of Tommy's death was confirmed in a statement by the Johnny Cash Museum in Nashville on Saturday.

"Tommy Cash is a loyal supporter of the Johnny Cash Museum and a member of our beloved extended family as well as a member of the highly respected music industry," said Bill Miller, founder and CEO of Icon Entertainment, launching the Johnny Cash Museum, cited from Variety, Monday, September 16.

However, the statement from the Johnny Cash Museum did not explain in more detail the cause of Tommy's death.

Meanwhile, Tommy is the one who followed in the footsteps of his brother as a country musician. Johnny himself died on September 12, 2003, at the age of 71

Tommy was born in Dyess, Arkansas, United States on April 5, 1940. He is one of seven children, including Johnny and Joanne Cash.

After graduating from high school, he joined the military and worked as a dislike for Armed Forces Radio Network.

He also played with Hank Williams Jr. at the beginning of his music career.

Tommy Cash got his first record contract from the Musician in 1965.

Later, he signed a contract with United Artists Records, and in 1968, released "The Sounds of Goodbye".

The following year, with Epic Records, he released "Six White Horses", a song dedicated to John F. Kennedy, Robert F. Kennedy, and Martin Luther King Jr.

Tommy also released many songs on the charts, such as "Rise and Shine" and "One Song Away".
