Reality Club Vocalist About Withdrawing From SXSW: Attitude More Important Than Dream Stage

JAKARTA - The Reality Club officially declared itself to have withdrawn from the 2024 SXSW event. Previously they were scheduled to appear twice at the event, connecting the North American tour they were currently on.

Fathia, vocalist of the Reality Club, told about the situation behind the big decision. He said the decision was taken after internal discussions and consultations with related parties.

"As you know we canceled two shows at SXSW. It's hard to make this decision because there are a lot of people and organizers involved. We stopped at a refueling station between California and Texas for a sudden meeting," Fathia wrote via her Instagram account, @kittendust.

Fathia Cs' attitude is supported by a promoter. That's why they have to take a stand, even though the SXSW stage is one of the big dreams of this group from Jakarta.

"In the end, we have agreed and all those involved also support our decision (to withdraw from SXSW), even the promoters. I am very vocal in voicing Palestine and I do not want a stage or dream of hindering something that is very pleasing to me. I am proud of the decisions that the band has made," he said.

This is not the first time the Reality Club has failed to appear on SXSW in 2020. However, due to the pandemic, they canceled flying to Austin, Texas at that time.

Now the Reality Club will continue their tour in North America. The remaining Chicago, Toronto and New York will be where they introduce music on the American continent.
