Coachella Festival Held April Postponed To October

JAKARTA - The organizer of a number of events is worried about the spread of the corona virus, including the concert festival.

After becoming confused, today, Wednesday, March 11, Coachella officially postponed the festival, which was supposed to run for two weeks, namely April 10-12, followed by April 17-19. Located in California, Coachella appointed Rage Against the Machine, Travis Scott, and Frank Ocean.

Through their Twitter account @coachella, Goldenvoice as the promoter declared the withdrawal of this festival because of their attention to the issue of the corona virus or COVID-19.

They asked the audience and organizers to care about health and they tried to negotiate with the artists who were scheduled to perform at Coachella 2020.

A new date was announced. Coachella also wrote October 9-11 and October 16-18 as the new dates for the concert.

Ticket holders who have already purchased tickets for April are immediately allocated an event in October, but for those who cannot attend the event, they can refund Goldenvoice.

This was done after the California government confirmed 167 cases and 2 died on Tuesday, March 10. Goldenvoice also avoids the word cancel because it still requires viewers.

However, this decision is unfortunate for fans, especially for those who have ordered in advance.

A number of musicians are scheduled to perform for their first fanbase or reunions. Among them, on the main stage there is Rage Against the Machine as a rock band, Frank Ocean's first stage at Coachella, BIGBANG's comeback that VIPs have been waiting for (as BIGBANG fans are called), and many more.

Apart from Coachella, the Stagecoach music festival held by Goldenvoice has also been postponed from its initial date, 24-26 April 2020. The country music festival located in California has also set a date for 23-25 October 2020 following Coachella.

Coachella and Stagecoach were the last two festival events to decide to postpone the event after South by Southwest (SXSW) and Ultra Festival canceled the entire event. Several concerts such as the Pearl Jam tour, the Madonna concert, and Miley Cyrus' visit to Australia were canceled due to the corona virus issue.

A number of musicians who are scheduled to visit the Asian continent have also had to cancel their entire Asian tour considering that Asia is one of the continents that has the issue of the corona virus. Starting from Green Day, Stormzy, Khalid, Slipknot, Kiss, Avril Lavigne, Foals, The National, and BTS have to cancel the tour for the safety of all fans.
