5 Years Since Debut, Stevan Pasaribu Throws First Album

JAKARTA - Debut since 2018 in the national music industry, Stevan Pasaribu has only released a single for five years. A total of ten songs have been produced, both solo and collaborating with other singers.

Before heading to the sixth year, Stevan Pasaribu finally ended the wait for an debut album with the title Harapan which was released on Wednesday, December 13.

Stevan explained that his first album came through inspiration for unrest, confusion and feelings of love that could not be disclosed.

"His aspirations come from our anxiety, confusion and love that cannot be expressed in words. In the end, I expressed it through this Harapan album," said Stevan Pasaribu in his statement, Friday, December 15.

Meanwhile, Harapan contains nine songs, which come from new songs and songs that have previously been released. In the production process, Stevan was assisted by several producers, such as Iwan Simanjuntak, Ivan Dewanto, Dimas Wibisana and Dennis Nussy.

"At first I really wanted to release an album. Well, I happen to have several songs that have been released. Finally, my dreams came true by making this all an album. The meaning of this album is the same as the title, namely Harapan, because I want this album to be a hope for everyone," he said.

Through several obstacles on the way to making an album, Stevan wants Hope to represent the feelings of many people.

"I really want this album to represent your hearts, and feel the atmosphere of an honest heart's journey. Don't stop hoping, because I think people who don't have the same hope as the dead," said Stevan.

Of the nine works presented, Ku Unable to song became the main song. Stevan said the song was made based on his personal story.

"I can't afford to have a toxic relationship anymore, where I can no longer survive with an unhealthy relationship, and have given up on my partner. I made this song open in this album, because this is the hurtest love experience I've ever had, and I feel that the pain from the heart must reach the listeners' hearts too," said Stevan Pasaribu.
