Voice of Baceprot (VOB) is known as one of the rock bands with different appearances. Consisting of three young women, Marsya (guitar), Siti (drums), and Widi (bass), the band from Garut appeared wearing a hijab.
Marsya sees that nowadays more and more women and teenagers like herself are starting to dare to work in music, even some of them playing metal and punk music which has been synonymous with male musicians.
Voice of Baceprot personnel see this as progress. They also hope for more support for women wearing hijab in the Indonesian music world.
"We feel that it is indeed a good progress. And it must be supported so that in the future there will be more," said Marsya when met in Jakarta.
Furthermore, Voice of Baceprot also revealed their current focus. Marsya, Siti and Widi want to tour many cities in Indonesia.
Even though she has toured Europe twice and once on a tour in North America, Voice of Baceprot sees the tour in Indonesia as a difficult challenge to conquer.
