Scene Queen Latang Voices Sexual Anti-harassment Through 18+

JAKARTA - Soloist Scene Queen refuses to remain silent and chooses to speak out loud through the latest single titled 18+ by bringing a message against sexual harassment and manipulative behavior of the perpetrators in the music industry that she is involved in.

"I deliberately wrote the 18+ lyrics and hoped to be controversial. My mission is to make this song not only about personal calls, but to become the subject of debate at the scene as wide as possible. For example, which band irritated me or the lyrics were troubling," said Scene Queen in written information, Tuesday.

The singer whose real name is Hannah Collins is often identified as a music artist who carries a feminism as the central theme of his works on the album Bimbocore Vol.2. Through his latest work, Scene Queen tries to alleviate the theme that he thinks is rarely talked about in the music industry in the last ten years.

"I left the music scene around 2015 because I didn't feel there was a safe space for women. At that time I vowed that when I returned, I had to promote what was my mission until the sense of security was realized," said Scene Queen quoting Antara, Tuesday.

Through the single 18+, the 25-year-old singer assessed that sexual predatory behavior is something that has been happening on music scene for years and is still happening today.

"If I keep waiting for the right time and the easiest way to start the conversation, then I'll never get that opportunity," said Scene Queen.

Since the teaser was released online a few weeks ago, the single "18+" has been peeked at by more than millions of listeners around the world who are interested in the uniqueness of the Scene Queen. He often appears all pink and becomes very frontal to shout misogynistic lyrics wrapped in emo-metal music.

Part of the net profit of "18+" sales will be donated by the Scene Queen to Rape's sexual non-violence organization, the Abuse & Incent National Network (RAINN).
