Grindcore Band Made By Dave Lombardo Releases Single Debut Next Week

JAKARTA - The hard music unit Empire Statemen signed a contract with Roadrunner Records.

Founded by Simon Neil (Biffy Clyro) and Mike Vennart (guitarist live and solo artist raly Clyro, ex Oceansize), the bandpindcore extreme metal also features Dave Lombardo (Slayer, Testament) on drums, with Naomi Macleod (Bitxh Falcon) completing the panggung line-up with bass.

Empire State Australia's first single, Harvest will be released worldwide on March 24.

The idea behind the Empire Stateition comes as Simon and Mike spend their rest time on tours sitting behind the bus while sharing the loudest, most avant-garde, or most confrontational music they can find.

When thoughts turned to create their own project, Simon already thought of the band name, leaving Mike with a very strange challenge: 'What music can you write according to his name?'

It took about a decade to find time and emotion to make it happen. With Mike writing songs and recording all the guitars, and Simon focusing on vocals and lyrics, they finally came up with a collection of adventure-packed songs, slipping into almost every dark gap you can imagine from a myriad of metal sound and extremities adjacent to the genre.

Empire State music levers are very loud on the Siege line; the bustle of the bustle, the deep thrash of Slayer's style; Melvins tight mud; Mike Patton's vocal stiffness; and the powerful riffs of the Sleep.

It is a band rooted in the tradition of metal progenitors, but informed by a newer wave of left-wing aggression.
