JAKARTA - Van Halen's first live album, Live: Right Here, Right Now (1993) will be re-released in limited edition of the blacklist format on Record Store Day.
Recorded in May 1992 when Van Halen completed a world tour to support the classic triple-platinum album For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge, the album shows how vocalist Sammy totaling, guitarist Eddie Van Halen, drummer Alex Van Halen, and bassist Michael Anthony served Van Halen's hits for more than two hours.
Live: Right Here, Right Now was only released as many as 7,500 copies in a transparent red disk format weighing 180 grams and available exclusively in selected independent music retailers on April 22 for 99.98 US dollars.
In a new interview with Cameron Buchholtz from KATT on the radio Rock 100.5, Wolfgang Van Halen was asked about his involvement in the re-issuance of the Van Halen album of the Sammy total era.
"Al [Alex Van Halen], obviously, he was the head when he had to make a decision. But, obviously I was part of that when needed, I followed him on whatever he thought was the right thing to do," Eddie Van Halen's son and former Van Halen's former bassist said.
"But when it comes to decision making or at least just helping him decide, yes, I'm the kind my father would choose for those things with Al. So Al and I are a team. But, yes, above all, he's a decision maker."
Wolfgang went on to say he was happy to see Live: Right Here, Right Now re-released three decades later.
"[Van Halen] that era did not get respect, in my opinion," said Wolfgang.
"Even though there are a lot of amazing songs and guitar playing is obviously brilliant and I don't think people are giving it a chance because they (fans) fall into the 'vocalist commotion is better (than that one)' which is tiring. Unfortunately, at that time, it was like, just give it a chance. There are some really good things there."
