JAKARTA - Guitarist John Christ, who left Danzig in July 1995 after four albums and one EP, reflected him out of the band in a new interview with Guitar World magazine.

Asked what led to his decision to leave Danzig, this is what the musician whose real name is John Knoll said.

"Eerie Von's banner, Chuck Biscuits, and I are in terrible contract negotiations. Actually, there were no negotiations. Glenn [Danzig] wanted everything and slowly blackmailed us. He got all the support from labels and management," said John.

"We don't have anyone to support us. Glenn is able to spend more money than us until we 'cheat'. Royalty, publishing, down payment, everyone. He signed his own deal without us ever knowing it. Welcome to the entertainment business."

Regarding whether he had a plan when he left Danzig, Christ said: "What I really wanted was to join Metallica. I really wanted Kirk Hammett's position so I could feel it. It's funny; years later, after I realized, I sometimes thought about how I would get Kirk Hammett out and get that job.

"The only other show I really wanted was to play with Ozzy Osbourne. But I ended up formingoding 13."

Christ then released his first and only solo album, Flesh Caffeine, in 1999.

John took part in the Metallic Assault: A Tribute to Metallica (2001) album, playing Enter Sandamn with Tommy Aldridge (Black Oak Arkansas, Ozzy Osbourne; drums), Burton C. Bell (Fear Factory; vocals), and Robert Trujillo (bass).
