NCT 127 Concerts Stopped By Police: Inevitably Concerning Capacity, Spectators Also Must Be Attention

JAKARTA The incident at the music concert continues again. The police again had to take preventive action by stopping the event. This happened during the South Korean boyband concert NCT 127 at ICE BSD, Tangerang, Friday night (4/11).

NCT 127 concerts have been going on since 19.00 WIB. Initially it was conducive. Unlike the previous music festival at Istora Senayan which was crowded, the number of spectators who came to ICE BSD was still on standard, only 8,000 people from the maximum capacity of the 10,000 concert room.

However, when there were three songs left, precisely after NCT performed the song Paradise there was a riot. The audience pushed each other for plastic balls distributed by NCT 127 members.

"At first it was fun. Everyone was shaking together, dancing. Space is also still relieved to dance. When it was chaotic, several NCT 127 personnel such as Mark, Taeyong, and Doyong had asked the audience to be orderly. They repeatedly asked the audience in the front of the stage not to jostle.

Shortly thereafter, at around 21.20 WIB, the police decided to stop the concert. Moreover, when they found out that 30 spectators had fainted due to jostling.

Those who have fainted have received medical treatment. His condition is now conscious again.

As of Saturday (5/11) in the morning, a number of hashtags regarding the incident of stopping the NCT 127 concert appeared and became a trending topic on Twitter.

For the incident, NCT 127 concert promoter Dyandra Global Education apologized to NCT 127's day 1 audience for not being able to enjoy the concert until the end. Also, all members of NCT 127 and SM Entertainment for not being able to realize the desired concert.

"Unfortunate things happened at the end of the concert. Order began to disappear in the standing section, resulting in chaos which required the concert to be stopped for the safety of the audience," Dyandra said in a written statement on his official Twitter account, Saturday (5/11).

"Because safety and experience watching safe concerts is what we want, for day 2, we will add more paramedics and security personnel. We also continue to work with the local police and try to avoid unwanted incidents from happening again. We hope that day 2 spectators can continue to maintain safety procedures during the event."

The second day of NCT 127 concert will still be held at the same location on November 5, 2022 starting at 19.00 WIB.

Previously, the Indonesian Music Promotor Association (APMI) said it would prepare a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) which generally applies to the holding of music concerts in the country.

The SOP discussion starts from managing recommendations and permits, calculating music concert participants, preparing stage layouts, crowd control, and a number of other things that need to be considered.

"This standard is based on our experiences by promoters in APMI, then from the services of third parties who are fluent in their fields. Because the promoter does not work alone and indeed using professional services in their respective fields is a crucial step. So later the standard will be made to be used by all promoters or music event organizers," said APMI Program and Investment Head, Dewi Gontha at the South Jakarta APMI press conference, Thursday (3/11).

The prepared standards will also be made on several scales, such as small concert scale, medium concert scale, and large concert scale so that other organizers can have more clear picture to ensure the smooth running of a music concert.

"We hope that the presence of the music concert standard will make it easier for event organizers and make it easier for stakeholders to carry out their duties more smoothly," he said.
