JAKARTA - One more, music festival in the country is here. Not only for entertainment, but also promoting the appearance of local heroes.

Prost Fest 2022, as the name suggests, will be held at Mertasari Beach, Sanur, Bali on August 13-14. By carrying out the concept of a music festival on the beach, a number of famous musicians are ready to take action.

In contrast to musical performances with other festival concepts, Prost Fest 2022 will feature 60 percent of Balinese bands/musicians and 40 percent of musicians from outside Bali. According to the organizers, the way to curate the performers is to prioritize national bands that rarely appear on the Island of the Gods and local bands from the underground scene.

"As a festival that is being held for the first time, Prost Fest 2022 wants to be a place to show talents and works for Indonesian musicians. Both on a national scale and emerging new artists in the Indonesian music industry in the country," said Muhamad Aldian, Program Director of Prost Fest in his statement in the Menteng area, last Wednesday.

And there are 10 more names who are ready to be part of the fun on the two stages presented at Prost Fest 2022; Prost Stage and Singaraja Stage. In total there will be 34 performers where for the Singaraja Stage, about 60 percent of local Balinese artists and bands will explore.

It's not just about serving music. Prost Fest 2022 will also feature the '360 Bar' to accommodate F&B needs while providing a fresh and memorable experience for festival goers in Indonesia and travelers wherever they are.

"As the name implies, this bar has a 360-degree shape that will go around the festival area with lots of bartenders," said Muhamad Aldian.

With the arrival of Prost Fest 2022, the excitement of music festivals in Indonesia seems to be booming again. The creative economy ecosystem in the country is growing again and has a positive impact on the actors and also the audience after being hit by the COVID-19 pandemic for two years.

"Prost Fest is expected to be an offering and contribution of enthusiasm for Bali, which is the window to the world of Indonesia, so that it can fully revive," said Bali music observer Rudolf Dethu.
