JAKARTA - Chester Bennington's band before Linkin Park, Gray Daze, shared a track that has never been published. The song that was prepared for the rock band's latest full album of the 90s was titled What's in the Eye.

Bennington's widow, Talinda, revealed that in December, Gray Daze had planned a revival with Bennington. However, in the midst of recording new material, the vocalist passed away in 2017.

The hitherto untitled album is currently being revealed in stages. Starting from What's in the Eye, which was recorded for the first time between 1993-1996.

Launching NME, Thursday, January 16, this album will be equipped with a number of musicians. These included Bennington's 27-year-old son Jamie and two Korn guitarists, Brian "Head" Welch and James "Munky" Shaffer.

Written by Bennington and drummer Sean Dowdell, What's in the Eye deals with feelings of loss after the death of a friend in a car accident. Which will give Gray Daze and Linkin Park fans chills, this song features 17-year-old Bennington's original vocals.

Gray Daze reworked the song under the guidance of producers Chris Taynor, Kyle Hoffman, and Jay Baumgardner. Accompanying the track, a simple lo-fi video combines a close-up of a widening eyeball with live performance footage and animation.

In an open letter written last month, Talinda spoke of the project.

"Releasing the new Gray Daze album will highlight where my husband started and hopefully give his fans a better understanding of art and a more complete picture of his journey through this incredible music."

In a recent interview, Dowdell said that Bennington would be proud of the album they released in his honor.

"There is depth to the lyrics on this record," he said. "Chester sang every word as if he believed every emotion."

Although an official release date has yet to be confirmed, the album is expected to arrive in the spring via Loma Vista Recordings. This is Gray Daze's third album after Wake Me (1994) and ... No Sun Today (1997).
