JAKARTA - Hard rock band Stone Sour released a demo version of the song Blue Study. The original track appears on their self-titled debut album which was released eight years ago.
In a statement accompanying the release of the Blue Study demo on YouTube, Stone Sour guitarist Josh Rand wrote:
"Blue Study is one of four songs written in 1997 but not recorded until 2000 during a break on Slipknot's schedule. Three of the four songs made it onto the self-titled album and Come What (ever) May."

Rand also recently said he did not know when Stone Sour would release a new studio album. Asked in an interview with Guitar World if they had started work on the follow-up to Hydrograd which was launched two years ago, this was Rand's answer.
"To be honest, this band is on hiatus right now and without a definite schedule to return. The reason is between needing a break and adding Corey (Taylor) who wants to work on a solo album, so I don't know when there will be new Stone Sour music."
Rand hinted that the band would release something next summer that he wasn't able to talk about yet. However, he also told The Pulse Of Radio that he was working on another project to make fans happy during Stone Sour's vacuum.
"I make archives like we all do, every week I will release a demo or an alternative version of a song, starting from scratch," he explained.
Stone Sour has not hit the streets since completing a support tour for the Hydrograd album. Since then, Taylor has been working again with Slipknot, recording, releasing and touring We Are Not Your Kind. On March 27th they will perform at the Hammersonic Festiva at Ancol Carnaval Beach.
Taylor recently told WhatCulture he has written 26 songs for his solo album. He signaled this with recordings he had done over the years.
Meanwhile, Rand is currently promoting Stone Sour's latest live album, Hello, You Bastards: Live In Reno, which was released on December 13.
