JAKARTA - Modern women are now not only required to look stylish while driving, but also have a high awareness of their own safety and other road users. Therefore, PT Astra Honda Motor (AHM) is again holding a driving safety education campaign entitled "Zen on Wheels".
General Manager of Marketing Planning and Analysis of AHM, Andy Wijaya, emphasized that this program is part of the company's ongoing commitment to building a culture of safe driving in Indonesia.
"Women are now increasingly active in daily mobility. Through this program, we want to provide education that not only strengthens driving skills, but also encourages the importance of calmness and self-control, so that every journey can be carried out safely and confidently," said Andy, quoted from the official statement, Thursday, April 23.
Together with 28 Honda motorcycle main dealer networks, this campaign invites women to be more aware when driving in the midst of dynamic traffic conditions. The "Zen" philosophy refers to full awareness of the situation, so that drivers are expected to be calm, focused, and quick in making decisions on the road.
With this approach, safety is the result of a conscious driving habit, not just technical ability. This program, which runs from April 13 to 24, 2026, targets 1,796 women from various backgrounds, ranging from students, workers, to communities.
Participants receive theoretical and practical materials through safety riding training using the Honda Riding Trainer. This approach is designed so that participants not only understand safe driving techniques, but also are able to recognize potential dangers and respond to them more calmly and controlled.
Driving awareness is important in the midst of various distractions that drivers often experience, such as mental load, multitasking activities, to the habit of rushing. These conditions can reduce focus and increase the risk on the road. Therefore, mental calmness and full awareness are considered the main foundation in maintaining safety during driving.
As part of a series of national activities, AHM also held an educational session at the AHM Safety Riding Park on April 20, 2026. This activity presents a number of competent speakers, such as AHM Safety Riding Instructor Laras Dwi Yulia and Kanit Walsus Subditwal & PJR Korlantas Polri Iptu Wahyu Martono.
Participants are equipped with an understanding of traffic rules, techniques for reading potential hazards, maintaining driving position, to dealing with emergency situations. The "Zen" approach is also strengthened through a session with yoga practitioner Brigitta Hardi.
In this session, participants are invited to understand the importance of breathing techniques, maintaining focus, and training self-awareness. This emphasizes that a calm mental state is the initial protection for drivers on the road.
Currently, AHM is supported by more than 120 safety riding instructors, including 14 female instructors spread across various regions. Since 2002, more than 31 million Indonesians have received driving safety education as part of efforts to create a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable driving culture.
