KTM North America is recalling certain 2025-model year 390 Adventure R, SMC R, Adventure X, and Enduro R motorcycles.
Based on a report by Rideapart, quoted Tuesday, January 20, units produced between certain dates may experience damage to the standard side spring due to normal engine vibration, and this can happen while the motorcycle is being ridden.
If the spring breaks, the side standard can fall to the ground, which can turn off the ignition and increase the risk of accidents or injuries for users.
From the data shared by KTM North America, around 2,512 units of motorcycles may be affected by this recall which represents around 1 percent of the population.
All affected models were produced between May 8, 2025 and August 14, 2025. For affected users, you can be vigilant when riding the iron horse.
According to KTM, so far there have been no reports of injuries related to this problem. The repair will involve replacing the old standard side spring with a new unit equipped with a rubber protector to dampen the vibration from the engine and better protect the spring.
In addition, a new standard side sensor plate will be installed during the recall service, which will shift the range of the standard side switch trigger.
KTM North America notified its dealer network of this issue on or about December 19, 2025. They plan to send a notification letter to registered owners of the 2025 390 models affected on or about February 17, 2026.
