JAKARTA - Suzuki Motorcycle India Private Limited (SMIPL) has achieved positive results with an accumulated production of 10 million motorcycles by the beginning of this year.

The manufacturer started production in February 2006, and reached a cumulative production of 10 million units in 20 years. Currently, SMIPL produces 13 models including the Access and GIXXER series.

The 10 millionth unit is an Access that combines superior everyday driving performance with comfort, and continues to support customer mobility.

Amidst the continued increase in demand for motorcycles in the Indian market, SMIPL is building a new factory in Kharkhoda to expand production capacity in line with market growth.

SMIPL Managing Director, Kenichi Umeda, said the achievement of a production figure of 10 million units reflects the trust of customers, partners, employees, and all stakeholders.

"SMIPL continues to grow in line with the expansion of the Indian motorcycle market," he said, quoted from its official website, Monday, January 12.

SMIPL not only supplies the domestic market but also exports to regions such as ASEAN, Latin America, and Europe, playing an important role as Suzuki's largest motorcycle production center.

"In the future, we will continue to strengthen production capacity and expand our sales and service networks, and also by staying close to our customers through activities that allow them to feel the appeal of Suzuki," he said.

Indonesia is still one of the import bases from India, some of the models that are marketed do refer to the country's design, including Access which was officially present some time ago.
