JAKARTA - AJS Motorcycles is preparing to add to its product line by introducing the AJS Imber in 2026. This model is positioned as a lightweight adventure motorcycle with a 125 cc capacity with a four-speed semi-automatic transmission.

Arguably this is a more affordable alternative to the Honda CT125 Hunter Cub which is not officially sold in the UK. Reported from Motorcyclenews, Tuesday, December 16, the AJS Imber is priced from 2,349 pounds including VAT, or equivalent to Rp. 52 million.

Meanwhile, the Honda CT125 itself is priced at Rp82 million in the Indonesian market, and in the UK it costs Rp97 million through general importers. The AJS Imber itself had stolen the attention of visitors to the Motorcycle Live exhibition at the NEC Birmingham at the end of November, especially among fans of small-capacity adventure-style motorcycles.

English:

The Imber is powered by a 125 cc four-stroke air-cooled engine with a SOHC two-valve configuration. The engine produces 13.3 bhp at 8,000 rpm. The fuel tank has a capacity of 8.5 liters, while the total weight of the motorcycle is around 115 kilograms in ready-to-ride condition.

In terms of ease of use, the AJS Imber is equipped with an electric starter and kick starter. Its four-speed transmission is combined with a semi-automatic centrifugal clutch, so there is no clutch lever on the left handlebar.

The gear shifting system uses the heel and toe pedal, similar to the concept applied to the CT125. The light adventure character is supported by a ground clearance of 190 mm and a high-drawn exhaust design on the right side of the motorcycle.

AJS also attaches a middle standard that is useful for maintenance and helps the process of starting the engine. The foot-foot sector uses a spoke rim with a single disc braking system in the front and rear.

The seat height is claimed to be 810 mm for the standard version, or 760 mm with the low seat option, providing flexibility for various rider postures. Interestingly, with a price below £2,350, the AJS Imber is already equipped with various storage options.

There is a thick metal rack in front of the rider's seat as well as a large-sized rear luggage rack that is installed as standard. In addition, there is also a small plate above the round headlight to carry additional cargo.

With a combination of affordable price, unique design, and adequate carrying capacity, the AJS Imber is projected to be a versatile motorcycle for daily use in the city as well as casual trips on light offroad trails.
