Buell Super Cruiser Officially Begins To Be Built, This Is America's Most Awaited Motorbike

JAKARTA After a long wait, Buell Motorcycle Co. finally announced the official news of the production of their flagship muscle cruise, Buell Super Cruiser 1190cc V-twin, has officially begun.

The first production unit was launched from the Buell factory in Michigan, United States, last Friday, September 26.

Quoted from MCN, Tuesday, September 30, the motorbike, which was first exhibited as a concept that attracted attention in February 2023, has now transformed from just a picture to reality. The initial production unit was even directly donated to the Barber Motorsports Museum, which is predicted as an important part of the history of the revival of this legendary company.

Buell Motorcycle Co. CEO, Bill Melvin, cannot hide his pride.

"This hand-constructed machine is a true combination of performance and art," said Melvin.

"We are proud of the talented team whose dedication and expertise succeeded in turning the Super Cruiser from a bold concept to a production motorcycle."

The Buell Super Cruiser is not just an ordinary crudeer motorbike. Its heart is filled with a V-twin 1190cc engine capable of vomiting up to 172.6 horsepower (DK) and a 94 lb.ft peak torque at 8,500rpm. With a dry weight (without a liquid) of only 220 kg, the power-to-weight ratio of this motor is confirmed to be very satisfying on the highway.

Unlike his sport bike-oriented brothers, such as Hammerhead 1190 and 1190SX, the Super Cruiser uses a sturdy steel trellis chassis. The motor is equipped with 17-inch front and rear wheels for highway-oriented tire choices, combined with Fox's overturn fork and back-shock mono.

In the United States, the Buell Super Cruiser 1190cc is priced at US$25,900 (around Rp431 million).

Despite just starting production, global demand for this bike has already reached a "concern" level. Ian Johnson, co-owner of Rainbow Moto (new Buell Dealer in England), told MCN that he receives 20 to 30 calls each week just to ask about the progress of this model.

"If I had opened the deposit, I would have pocketed more than 100 orders. This doesn't make sense, but there really isn't any other bike out there that resembles it," Johnson concluded.
