TVS Establishes A Global Design Center In Italy, Targets Premium Motorcycles And Future Electricity

JAKARTA Two-wheeled and three-wheeled giant from India, TVS Motor Company which also now owns Norton Motorcycles, officially founded the Global Center of Excellence in Bologna, Italy, which at the same time strengthens their ambition to present premium motorcycles and future electric vehicles.

This step is accompanied by full acquisition of Engines Engineering Sp.A., a well-known automotive design and engineering company from Italy.

Quoted from MCN, Tuesday, September 30, Energy Engineering has long been known for its expertise in sophisticated prototyping, high-performance motorcycle innovation, and its work in MotoGP racing events.

"By combining the creativity and expertise of the Engine Engineering race with our engineering and design power, TVS is expanding its ability to present premium, connected, and electric vehicles that set new global benchmarks," said the Chairman of TVS Motor Company, Sudarshan Venu.

Not only that, CoE's presence at Bologna is also believed to strengthen the work of Norton Motorcycles. Venu added that this innovation center will encourage Norton to create a high-performance motor that still respects its iconic legacy, as well as bring new ambitions into the future.

TVS hopes that innovation centers in Bologna can accelerate the product development process, in collaboration with more than 700 of their R&D power worldwide. This facility is projected to be the center of concept-to-product' innovation that brings together ideas to birth as a market-ready product.

Italy itself is not a new territory for TVS. In May 2024, they launched Italian Motor TVS to market a row of motorcycles such as Apache RR and RTR 310, the result of collaboration with BMW through the G310 line.

Meanwhile, Norton is also preparing to open a new sheet. After announcing the termination of production of V4SV, V4CR, and Commando 961 in early September, the British brand is said to be releasing six new models from three different engine platforms. One of them is the newest V4 superbike scheduled to launch at the EICMA Milan event, next November.
