JAKARTA - Japanese motorcycle manufacturer Honda announced a recall involving thousands of CB motorcycles in India due to two problems that could potentially threaten safety.

Launching from Rideapart, Friday, September 27, the first problem in the model stems from a wheel speed sensor that has failed. According to the manufacturer, incorrect assembly procedures result in water entering the sensor assembled, causing a failure of the function.

This damage can spread to speedometer failures, even worse for anti-lock braking systems (ABS) and traction controls that affect driving safety.

The most surprising thing is that the problem is only found today or four years after the affected model begins production.

All CB models including CB300F, CB300R, and CB350 entering the assembly phase starting between October 2020 and April 2024 are part of the recall.

It has been observed that due to improper printing procedures, water can seep into the wheel speed sensor. This can cause damage to the velocity sensor that causes errors in the speedometer, traction control, or ABS intervention," Honda wrote.

The second problem involves the CB350 model. The root of the problem lies in the camshaft section which experienced production defects involving motorcycles produced between June and July 2024.

It has not been stated to what extent this component problem could affect the performance of motorcycles, but considering that the section is located on the machine, of course it needs faster handling and should not be postponed.

It has been identified that an improper camshaft manufacturing process may have an impact on the optimal function of the vehicle, added Honda.

The wing logo manufacturer has convinced all its customers to make repairs to the affected models. The problem will be solved through technicians at Big Wing Honda dealers's network across India for free.
