High Motorcyclist Accident, British Police Borrow BMW M1000RR To Promote Driving Safety

JAKARTA - British Police, precisely in North Yorkshire took to the highway with a high-performance BMW M1000RR motorcycle. This vehicle is used as a means of promoting driving safety.

Launching from Motorcyclenews, Monday, August 26, this motorbike was lent to the police and used as a means of interaction to speak and encourage motorists to ride their motorbikes more wisely.

Local police said that road safety for motorcyclists is very important, especially since two-wheelers contributed 20 percent of deaths on highways in the region in 2021.

"We had some amazing views in North Yorkshire, and we want everyone who uses the highway this weekend to enjoy their journey and return safely," the police said.

Roads Policing Group Inspector Total Turner said this operation was one of the approaches taken this year to make motorists more aware to always be responsible on the highway.

"This operation is one of several different approaches we took this year to engage the motorcycle community to encourage responsible motorists," Turner said.

This is not the first time the North Yorkshire police have used a high-performance motorbike as an operational vehicle. Last year, they used the Kawasaki Ninja H2 SX Supercharged on the highway network.

BMW M1000RR is the highest version of the S1000RR model. The bike is the first to carry the initial name M which is usually associated with a high-performance car from BMW.

This model experienced several improvements ranging from chassis, exhaust, braking, to machines. The fairing has small wings that maximize aerodynamics by providing higher downforce.

Since 2009, the S1000RR has been included in the World Superbike Championship (WSBK) racing event. Then, this German brand made an improvement to this motorbike and changed its name to M1000RR starting the 2021 competition season.
