GWM Shows Off Tank 700 Hi4-Z in the Philippines, a PHEV SUV with a Bold Design

JAKARTA - Great Wall Motors (GWM) continues to penetrate the Philippine automotive market, the latest is introducing three models at once and one of them is quite interesting, namely the Tank 700 Hi4-Z. Quoted from the Autoindustriya website, Monday, April 13, the car was exhibited at the Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) 2026. Interestingly, the Philippines is the country outside China that introduced the Tank 700 Hi4-Z. Visually, this SUV looks imposing from every angle, the bold front with distinctive LED headlights to the dramatic lines on the fenders, as well as the boxy rear and the G-Class-like trunk door with a tire tire in the back, the Tank 700 PHEV is indeed eye-catching. The high ground clearance makes this 4x4 vehicle confident and able to pass through rarely traveled terrain, complete with an intelligent 4WD system with various drive modes.

Entering the interior, the 700 Tank welcomes passengers with various screens. One of them is a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel in front of the driver, while the other is a 15.6-inch center media touch screen. Finally, there is a 17.3-inch rear entertainment screen that is only available for high-end models. Although designed for off-road, the Tank 700 is equipped with some interesting features such as a full leather seat, front and rear seats that can be adjusted 20-way with heating and cooling functions, as well as a 21-speaker audio system. The Tank 700 Hi4-Z comes with a plug-in hybrid drive system, consisting of a 2.0L turbo engine assisted by a pair of electric motors and a 59.05 kWh battery pack. This provides a combined power of 900 PS and 1,195 Nm of torque on the Tank 700 version of electrification. With battery power alone, GWM claims this 4x4 vehicle can travel up to 190 km. As well as with a fully charged battery and a full tank of gas, the manufacturer says the Tank 700 Hi4-Z PHEV has a combined range of almost 1,200 km.
