Not for Sale, Suzuki XBee is Secretly a Magnet at IIMS 2026

JAKARTA - The Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) 2026 is indeed the debut stage of Suzuki's first pure electric car, the e VITARA. However, behind the main spotlight, another model has successfully stolen the attention of visitors since the first day of the exhibition: Suzuki XBee.

Although it has not been officially sold in Indonesia, the Suzuki XBee is presented as a study model to see the market response. Its presence seems to signal that Suzuki is preparing an alternative to compact vehicles that are fun, functional, and relevant to today's urban mobility needs.

In terms of design, the XBee looks different and immediately catches the eye. The front face carries a rounded main lamp combined with a boxy-style body, creating a unique character that is modern and playful. The silhouette is concise, but still looks sturdy - suitable for urban consumers who want to stand out on the streets of the city.

Dimensionally, the Suzuki XBee has a length of 3,760 mm, a width of 1,670 mm, and a height of 1,705 mm. This size makes it ideal for daily use in the city, including when maneuvering in narrow roads or limited parking areas, without sacrificing driving comfort.

Entering the cabin, the typical feel of a compact Japanese car is immediately felt. The interior is designed to be relatively spacious and functional, equipped with a digital instrument cluster, a floating infotainment screen in the center of the dashboard, and an ergonomic transmission lever position close to the steering wheel. The front bench also has an arm rest and heating feature, adding comfort for daily use.

Interestingly, Suzuki still maintains many physical buttons on the dashboard, ranging from driving mode settings, hill start assist, to USB plugs and power outlets. This approach shows Suzuki's focus on ease of use. In the future, it is not impossible that the specifications and features of XBee will be adjusted based on the results of studies and the needs of Indonesian consumers.

Even though its status is still limited to studies, the presence of the Suzuki XBee at IIMS 2026 was successful in sparking curiosity. An interesting signal from Suzuki that a compact car with a strong character still has its own place in the domestic market.
