Breaking 12 Thousand SPK, Jaecoo Apologizes Again at IIMS for Long J5 EV Inden

JAKARTA - The presence of the Jaecoo J5 EV directly shook the domestic electric vehicle market. The new electric SUV from the Chinese manufacturer recorded a surge in bookings since it was first introduced, even before entering the beginning of 2026, the total Vehicle Order Letter (SPK) has penetrated tens of thousands of units.

Consumer enthusiasm is said to have been felt since the early days of the launch, and in a short time, thousands of units were immediately ordered, indicating the high public interest in this model. As directly stated by the Business Director of the Jaecoo Indonesia Unit, Jim Ma.

"Since its launch, the public's response has been phenomenal, surpassing 2,000 SPKs in just two days. Until January 2026, I am proud to announce that the total SPK has exceeded 12,000 units," said Jim Ma at a press conference at the IIMS 2026 event, Thursday, February 5.

This explosion in demand certainly has consequences for the distribution process. Jaecoo admitted that the delivery was carried out gradually to meet the queue of customers who continued to flow.

"Up until two weeks ago, we had delivered more than 3,000 units of the J5 EV to customers," he added.

Even though thousands of cars are already on the road, the number of applicants who have not received units is still quite large. In response to this condition, Jaecoo is now increasing production capacity in order to accelerate delivery without sacrificing vehicle quality.

"We are maximizing our production capacity to ensure deliveries are made as quickly as possible. Our team is working tirelessly to accelerate this process while maintaining the highest quality standards for each vehicle," said Jim Ma.

Jaecoo Indonesia management also publicly apologized to consumers who are still undergoing an inden period of about one to two months. The company emphasized that unit delivery is the main focus at this time.

"We understand that some of our customers are still waiting for their cars. We sincerely apologize and thank all customers for their patience and understanding," he said.
