JAKARTA - Volkswagen is preparing a 7-seater SUV for the Indian market, the model is the Tayron 7 which will be offered in the sporty R-Line variant.

Quoting from the Gaadiwaadi website, Monday, January 12, Volkswagen recently shared a short teaser video, which revealed that the SUV coming to it was none other than the Tayron, and its launch has been confirmed for the first quarter of 2026.

Tayron will be the new flagship model from the German carmaker, which directly competes with segment leaders such as the Toyota Fortuner. In addition, it will also compete with the Skoda Kodiaq, MG Gloster, and Jeep Meridian.

The Tayron is essentially a 7-seater version of the Tiguan, and has been sold in several global markets since 2024. The car serves as a replacement for the Tiguan AllSpace and was first launched in China, followed by the European market.

Dimensionally, the Tayron has a length of 4,770 mm with a wheelbase of 2,791 mm, offering ample space for second and third row passengers, as well as a 345-liter trunk.

In terms of design, the Tayron comes with several signature elements such as sleek dual-pod LED headlights with full-width LED light strips, as well as illuminated Volkswagen logos on the front and back.
