JAKARTA - BYD has again strengthened its electric vehicle portfolio by introducing the Song Ultra, the latest pure electric SUV that occupies the most powerful position in the Song series family. This model comes as an option for consumers who want more aggressive performance compared to other Song variants that are already circulating.

Currently, the Song series lineup in the market includes various models, ranging from the Song L DM-i and Song Pro DM-i in standard and Intelligent Driving Edition versions, to the Song L EV. The presence of Song Ultra completes the line with a focus on performance and larger dimensions.

In terms of design, the front view of the Song Ultra at first glance resembles the Song Pro DM-i, with subtle differences in the design of the grille. The back is distinctive with a knot-shaped lamp design that is a visual identity often used by BYD.

Launching from Carnewschina, Friday, January 9, the "EV" and "Song Ultra" emblems are attached to the left and right sides of the lower trunk door, respectively, confirming its status as a pure electric vehicle. To support advanced driving assistance features, a lidar on the roof is available as an option.

In terms of size, the Song Ultra is the largest in the Song family. This SUV has dimensions of 4,850 mm in length, 1,910 mm in width, and 1,670 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,840 mm. These figures surpass the Song L DM-i 2026 and the Song Pro DM-i 2026.

The empty weight of the vehicle is recorded in the range of 1,990 kg to 2,050 kg, depending on the configuration. Performance matters are the main selling point. The Song Ultra is equipped with an electric motor code TZ200XYAV with a maximum power of 270 kW or equivalent to 362 hp.

The power is channeled to the wheels at a peak speed of 210 km/h. The energy source comes from BYD's signature Blade battery known for its durability and high level of safety.

Compared to other models in the Song series, the Song Ultra output is clearly superior. The Song L DM-i only relies on a 160 kW electric motor, the Song Pro DM-i 120 kW, while the Song L EV is at 230 kW. With a considerable gap, Song Ultra is positioned as the highest performance variant in the Song line.
