JAKARTA - Artificial intelligence (AI) is increasingly confirming its role in daily life, including in the global automotive industry. No longer just a complementary feature, AI is now being prepared to become the main "brain" of modern vehicles.

At the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2026, Bosch will introduce a new AI platform designed to change the way drivers interact with cars. As the world's largest automotive supplier, Bosch promotes this AI-powered cockpit as a major leap.

They aspire to transform cars from mere means of transportation into smart partners that can learn on their own and understand the driver's routines, preferences, and context. One of the main highlights is the new generation of voice assistants that not only react to commands, but are also able to anticipate the driver's needs.

For example, when the driver says "I feel cold", the system can automatically warm the seats and raise the cabin temperature without additional instructions.

From a technical perspective, Bosch's AI platform is powered by Nvidia's Drive AGX Orin on-chip system, which has a capacity of up to 200 tera operations per second.

Reported by Carscoops, Thursday, December 25, 2025, this chip allows real-time sensor processing while supporting advanced vision language models. As a result, AI can reason in multiple steps and present a more natural conversation with the driver.

Not only focusing on driving comfort, Bosch also targets vehicles as a walking workspace. The German company partnered with Microsoft by presenting the Foundry platform to build and manage applications and AI agents.

In fact, access to the Microsoft 365 suite is embedded directly into the vehicle interface. In practice, drivers can join a Microsoft Teams meeting simply through a voice command, while the vehicle system automatically activates adaptive cruise control to reduce the burden of driving.

Bosch's latest AI platform is scheduled to debut at CES Las Vegas in January 2026. In the future, the company is targeting sales of more than 2 billion euros from infotainment solutions in vehicles by 2030.

"This new AI extension platform allows existing cockpit systems to be quickly and easily upgraded with advanced AI functions."

"This makes the driving experience more comfortable, intuitive, and safer for all vehicle passengers," said Bosch Mobility Chairman Markus Heyn.
