GWM Tank 700 Officially Hits the Road in the Middle East, Prepare Hi4 Technology and V8 Engine

JAKARTA - Great Wall Motor (GWM) officially launched its flagship SUV, Tank 700, in the Middle East region. This launch is the latest strategic step in expanding the footprint of the Chinese brand globally, while affirming its ambitions in the premium off-road SUV segment.

The 700 tank is now available across GWM's dealer network in the United Arab Emirates and a number of other Middle Eastern countries. Meanwhile, the Qatar market is scheduled to be the next destination with an official launch next month, reported from Indiaautoblogs, Wednesday, December 17.

Along with the regional debut of the Tank 700, GWM also confirmed plans to bring the Hi4 intelligent hybrid four-wheel drive system to the Middle East and African markets by 2026. This system was developed specifically to cope with extreme conditions.

Where, GWM focuses on stable performance in various terrains, from deserts to heavy offroad tracks, in line with the Tank brand's character which emphasizes adventure capabilities. On the same occasion, GWM also showcased a preview of the latest generation 4.0-liter turbocharged V8 engine platform.

This step confirms the manufacturer's commitment to providing high-performance powertrain options for its future SUV lineup. In addition, GWM introduced an offroad rating system designed to classify vehicle capabilities more clearly, from daily use in urban areas to professional-level extreme offroad.

Globally, the Tank sub-brand continues to show significant growth. The Tank series is now marketed in more than 30 countries with cumulative sales exceeding 800,000 units.

In the Middle East region, its performance is also quite strong, with GWM calling the Tank 500 the leader of the medium to large SUV segment in Qatar. Not only in terms of sales, GWM also highlights the development of the Tank user community in various parts of the world.

Currently, there are nearly 80 club owners and more than 300 online communities, reflecting the growing and loyal offroad fan base for the brand.
