Not Wanting Responsibility, Nissan Releases NX8 Premium SUV With 800 Volt Architecture And 5C Ultra Fast Filling

JAKARTA - Nissan's strategy in China in 2025 cannot be underestimated by rivals. Thanks to the joint venture, Nissan and Dongfeng have been born with two high-tech sedans aimed at being sold around the world, N6 and N7.

However, that is not enough, Nissan recently launched the third model of the N-series, namely Nissan NX8. Not wanting to play around, this electric SUV and PHEV are supported by 800 volt architecture and 5C ultra fast charging technology.

This midsize SUV immediately stole attention due to its sophistication level. NX8 is claimed to be so full of technology that, according to several reports, it even makes Nissan Pathfinder, Nissan's flagship SUV in America, including the latest version, look ancient when compared.

Reporting from Autoblogging, Monday, December 8, NX8 is part of Nissan's new N-series, which reflect on the efforts of this legendary brand to fight tightly in the Chinese market dominated by cutting-edge technology electric vehicles (EVs). In contrast to Nissan's approach in the US that tends to be secure (such as Rogue Plug-In Hybrid), NX8 suppresses full gas on fast charging, advanced software, and China's specific EV expectations.

By design, NX8 is directly included in the modern EV premium category. This car adopts the design language evolution of Nissan's V-motion. On the front, the fascia is dominated by a wide (7.9-foot) "star ring" lightbar combined with a flat-lighted Nissan badge and a matrix-style forward light.

The futuristic beauty is also emitted from the back with a wide OLED backlight panel such as the same technology found in Audi, which consists of more than 2,000 individual lighting elements with customizable patterns. NX8 also features a flush door handle (averaged) and an integrated side panel to maintain a clean profile.

In terms of size, NX8 is classified as a midsize SUV with a length of 191.7 inches (about 487 cm), 75.6 inches wide, and 66.1 inches high, slightly shorter than America's Pathfinder.

Although interior details have not been fully disclosed, the direction of the technology is very clear. NX8 supports navigational assistance systems on highways and urban areas, full scenario smart parking features (full-scenario intelligence parking), and supported by LiDAR-based driver assistance systems. This means NX8 offers advanced semi-autonomous driving capabilities (hands-on) that go far beyond basic driver assistance.

Architecture 800-Volt And Filling Ultra-Cept 5C

NX8 offers two powertrain options: Fully Electric Vehicle (EV) and Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV).

The EV version uses a single motorbike that produces 288 hp or 335 hp.

The PHEV version functions more like an extended-range EV. It relies on a turbo 1.5 liter engine powered by 146 hp and an electric motor powered by 262 hp.

One of the most revolutionary features is the 800-volt electrical architecture used in both variants, as well as support for 5C ultra-fast charging of CATL. Energy is supplied by the next generation lithium-iron phosphate Yundun battery of Nissan, which is designed to operate at extreme temperatures.
