JAKARTA The Toyota Veloz Hybrid was officially launched by PT Toyota Badminton Astra Motor (TAM) at the Gaikindo Jakarta Auto Week 2025 (GJAW) event on Friday, November 21. This model is a new generation of Veloz line which now carries hybrid technology and is produced locally.

TAM President Director Hiroyuki Ueda, said that this launch marks a new chapter for the Veloz model.

"Many years ago, we introduced Toyota Veloz. Since then, Veloz has become one of the most popular MPVs among Indonesian families," Ueda said at the launch.

"Today we are opening a new sheet for Veloz, now it comes with hybrid technology and is proud to be produced locally in Indonesia," he continued.

The price for the Veloz Hybrid starts at IDR 299 million, this is the prebook price at GJAW 2025. This car can be ordered now and will be sent to consumers starting 2026.

The launch of the Veloz Hybrid in Indonesia became the most affordable hybrid car from Toyota. Previously held by Yaris Cross Hybrid which was sold for IDR 437.2 million. It is the Yaris Cross 1.5 S HV CVT TSS model.

"Yes, previously Yaris Cross Hybrid was Toyota's most affordable hybrid model. Now the Hybrid Veloz will be our most affordable hybrid model," said PT Toyota-Astra Motor (TAM) Vice President Director Henry Tanoto, after the launch of the Veloz Hybrid.

Toyota Veloz Hybrid carries a 2NR-VEX coded engine with a capacity of 1,500 cc. The machine is identical to the machine used by the Toyota Yaris Cross Hybrid. However, according to Henry, Veloz Hybrid received a spectral adjustment to support the performance of a hybrid MPV car.

With the launch of the Veloz Hybrid in Indonesia, the domestically produced Hybrid Toyota car product line is increasingly complete. Previously, Toyota had local production hybrid cars, namely the Innova Zenix Hybrid and the Yaris Cross Hybrid.
