Lamborghini Showcases Super Trofeo's Themerario Design Concept

JAKARTA Lamborghini introduces the concept of the Temerario Super Trofeo design which is prepared for the 2027 season competition. This model is the sixth generation successor to their customer race car line under the auspices of Squadra Corse.

Lamborghini President Director Stephan Winkelmann said that although Lamborghini was not born as a racing car manufacturer, consumer needs actually formed a new direction for the company.

"We are not a brand that was born as a racing brand, but it is something that arises from the requests of clients. More than 1,300 racers have competed in Super Trofeo, so we feel the need to create something that really meets their needs," he said as quoted by Autocarindia, Friday, November 14.

The Super Trofeo themerario adapts many elements of the Temerario GT3 highway racing car. The basic structure relies on the aluminum hybrid chassis and carbon fiber developed according to FIA regulations, complete with built-in roll-cage.

The design follows Lamborghini's sharp and aggressive visual language, but still focuses on aerodynamic efficiency for use on track. In the performance sector, this model carries a 650-hp powered V8 twin-turbo engine.

Unlike the highway version, this model is not equipped with a hybrid system so that the racing character is more pure. The power is channeled to the rear wheels through the same six-acceleration sequential transmission as GT3's.

The traction control system is tuned to twelve stages, plus an ABS system designed to provide tuning flexibility across various circuits. Lamborghini also collaborates with a number of aftermarket partners such as Capristo for exhaust systems, KW for suspensions, and BMC Air Filters to ensure optimal performance in competition conditions.

This concept was first shown to the public at the Lamborghini World Finals at Misano World Circuit Simoncelli. The car is scheduled to make its racing debut at the 12 Hours of Sebring in March, before fully participating in the Super Trofeo championships in Asia, Europe, and North America from 2027.

"The Super Trofeo theme is the best embodiment of our 'fun to-drive' philosophy, where the pure racing evolution of the highway version of the Temerario," said chief technician Lamborghini Rouven Mohr.
