JAKARTA Jaecool Indonesia officially announced the price of its newest electric car, J5 EV, which is priced at IDR 249.9 million for the Standard variant and IDR 299.9 million for the Premium variant. This price applies specifically to the first 1,000 buyers.

Although the official price has not been announced in full, the price is fairly interesting, especially as the J5 EV plays in the electric SUV segment, which is generally sold in the range of Rp. 400'500 million.

There is a difference of around Rp. 50 million between the Standard and Premium variants. So, what are the differences between the two?

From the exterior side, both of them appear similar to the LED lights and the Active Grill Shutter (AGS) feature which can open and close automatically to adjust the airflow. This feature functions to improve aerodynamic efficiency while extending the distance.

However, the Standard variant is not yet equipped with a panoramic sunset, while the Premium variant already has it, gives the impression of a more spacious and luxurious cabin.

"The difference is not too flashy, if the highest variant already has a panoramic sunset," said Jaecool Indonesia Head of Product, Ryan Tirto, in Jakarta, Monday, November 3.

Entering the interior, the Premium variant is equipped with a 13.2-inch vertical touch screen, while the Standard variant uses a 9-inch screen with physical buttons. The seat material is also different, where the Standard variant uses a fabrict, and the Premium variant uses the skin. Additional features such as auto-dimming mirror, ventilated seat, electric seat, and driving mode are also only available in the Premium variant.

In terms of performance, both of them have the same technical specifications. J5 EV is equipped with a front-driven electric motor (FWD) with 207 dk of power and a peak torque of 288 Nm.

The battery capacity is also identical, namely 60.9 kWh, which offers a balance between efficiency and practicality. Both the Premium and Standard variants have a distance of up to 461 km (NEDC) in one charge. The 130 kW fast charging technology allows charging from 30 80 percent in just 28 minutes.

Another most striking difference lies in the ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) feature, which is only available in the Premium variant, while the Standard variant is not yet equipped with this feature.
