JAKARTA Image leaks circulating in cyberspace hint that the 2026 generation Toyota Hilux will most likely be present in the electricity version. The scattered photos show the legendary pickup silhouette with a different design from conventional diesel-engined versions.

In the registration document for vehicles that also appeared, there were indications that the Hilux electric variant would use a new driving system that no longer depends on 2.8 liter diesel engines that have been the mainstay of the model.

However, Toyota has not provided official confirmation regarding the electricity version of the Hilux launch plan, as quoted from Drive, Saturday, November 1, 2025.

Leaked images show a Hilux front display with thinner headlights, new grips with more modern shapes, and wheel arches that look more assertive.

The design still retains Hilux's tough character, but with an evolutive touch that makes it look more futuristic. In the interior, the cabin is said to be experiencing major updates.

The dashboard layout now looks cleaner with a large infotainment display that looks 'floating'.

Cabin materials are also reportedly of higher quality, providing a modern and comfortable impression for drivers and passengers.

Although many hope that the new generation of Hilux will completely switch to electricity, a number of reports say Toyota will still maintain a 2.8 liter diesel engine with an additional 48-volt mid-hybrid technology. This combination is believed to be a bridge to the full electrification era.

Until now, there has been no official information regarding the capacity of the electric battery, electric motor, or the selling price of the Hilux version.

However, this leak further strengthens the allegation that Toyota is preparing serious steps in presenting electric-powered commercial vehicles, while maintaining Hilux's reputation as a tough pickup that is adaptive to the times.
