BYD Tang L Officially Changed Name To Atto 8, Ready To Debut Global In Uzbekistan

JAKARTA BYD Tang L has officially changed its name to Atto 8 and is ready to enter the global market through his debut at the 2025 Tashkent International Auto Show in Uzbekistan.

Citing the Carnewschina page, Monday, October 27, this premium SUV actually launched first in China in April 2025 as one of the flagship models in the Dynasty series. In the domestic market, Atto 8 is priced starting from 229,800 yuan or around Rp535 million.

His presence in Uzbekistan adds to the ranks of BYD products in the global market, having previously presented Atto 3 and Atto 2. That way, BYD now has an increasingly complete SUV line on the international stage.

In dimensions, BYD Atto 8 has a length of 5,040 mm, a width of 1,996 mm, a height of 1,760 mm, and a wheelbase of 2,950 mm. Its appearance carries a modern design typical of the Dynasty series, with the front fascia chromene and the broad logo that emphasizes the elegant impression.

Two Powertrain Options

On his Tashkent debut, BYD Atto 8 comes in a plug-in hybrid (DM-p) version. This car carries a 115 kW (154 hp) turbocharged 1.5 liter gasoline engine combined with two electric motors generating a total power of 400 kW (536 hp). The acceleration is from 0100 km/hour only 4.3 seconds, with a peak speed of 200 km/hour.

Powered by a 35.62 kWh LFP battery, Atto 8 DM-p is capable of traveling up to 150 km in electric mode (WLTC). The 60 liter fuel tank allows a total distance of 1,017 km, with an efficiency of fuel consumption of 6.3 liters/100 km. DC to 71 kW fast charging is also available.

In addition to the hybrid version, BYD has also prepared an Atto 8 BEV (full electricity) which is estimated to be launched simultaneously. The RWD variant has 580 kW (777 hp) of power, while the EV 4WD version is able to produce a powerful power of up to 810 kW (1,086 hp) and accelerates 0100 km/hour in 3.9 seconds. With a 100.5 kWh LFP battery, the distance reaches 560670 km.

The presence of BYD Atto 8 is a strategic step to strengthen brand positions in the global market. The question is, will this large-powered SUV also launch in Indonesia soon?
