Jaguar's Latest Electric Sedan Arrested By Road Tests, Bags Are In The Spotlight

JAKARTA Although it is still a prototype, the latest electric sedan from Jaguar has just been caught on camera while undergoing road testing. The four-door car does not appear to prioritize practical aspects of carrying goods.

From the photo seen from Carscoops, Wednesday, October 22, you can see a liftback-type baggage door with a fairly limited small opening. The back has a high threshold on the waist of an adult, so users need to bend or tilt their bodies when they want to put the goods in baggage.

Interestingly, the rear design does not use conventional window mirrors, but rather a full body panel that blends with the exterior. This decision provides a cleaner and futuristic look, but has an impact on limited view and volume of baggage space.

The production model of the previously known concept as Type 00 is scheduled to launch at the end of 2025. Jaguar seems to want to highlight the high electric performance side, although it has to sacrifice little aspect of functionality.

This electric car was built on a new platform called Jaguar Electric Architecture which is claimed to be capable of traveling up to about 692 kilometers in ideal conditions. Its fast charging capability is also quite astonishing, where the battery can increase its range to 322 kilometers in just 15 minutes.

According to internal parties, Jaguar is no longer focusing on large sales volume, but on exclusivity and design that is completely different from competitors. This means that this car is more aimed at consumers who prioritize aesthetics, performance, and premium character than daily practice.

Even so, the final details of this car can still change ahead of the official launch. A narrow baggage opening could have been revised, or it would still be maintained as part of Jaguar's new design identity.
