Volvo Launches 3 Newest Electrification Cars In Indonesia, Take A Peek At Prices And Specifications

JAKARTA - Volvo Car Indonesia affirms its commitment to sustainable mobility by presenting the latest ranks of electric vehicles in an event titled A Refreshed Electric Journey. Three models were released for the Indonesian market.

Volvo presents The Refreshed XC60 Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) with XC60 and XC90 Mild Hybrid Electric Vehicle (MHEV). All three are tangible manifestations of Volvo's growing philosophy, which presents safe, innovative, inclusive premium mobility, and is in line with the modern lifestyle of Indonesian society.

"Electrification is not only about technology, but also about accessibility and meaningful changes," said President Director of Volvo Car Indonesia, Yoshiki Terawaki, in his official statement quoted Friday, October 17.

"By introducing Plug-in Hybrid and Mild Hybrid technology, we provide more Indonesian people with the opportunity to experience the benefits of electric mobility that suit their lifestyle," he continued.

Speaking of design, The Refreshed XC60 appears with a new face that is more assertive and elegant. The diagonal front goal which is now inspired by the XC90 design language presents a contemporary impression, while the back light with the darker accent gives a sporty feel without eliminating the signature character of Volvo.

Entering the cabin, the driver is greeted with an 11.2-inch infotainment display with Google integration and support from the Qualcomm Snapdragon Cockpit platform, promising a faster response as well as a smoother visual display. Wireless charging and console redesign are adding to the modern impression in Scandinavian minimalist style.

Regarding performance, XC60 T8 AWD Plug-in Hybrid comes with a combination of turbocharged gasoline engines and electric motors that produce up to 455 hp of power. This car is capable of traveling up to 82 kilometers with only electric power, with fuel efficiency reaching 1 liter per 100 km.

Powered by a fully charged 18.8 kWh battery in about three hours using a 3-phase 16A charger. Meanwhile, XC60 Mild Hybrid uses a 48V system to help accelerate, recover braking energy, and increase fuel efficiency without the need for plug-in charging.

Meanwhile, XC90 B5 AWD Mild Hybrid carries a 2.0 liter turbocharged 250-hp powerful engine, offering premium comfort through the Active Air Suspension feature, panoramic roof, and the Bowers & Wilkins 1,400W audio system which provides an immersive audio experience in luxury cabins with a capacity of seven passengers.

Since introducing the three-point seat belt in 1959, Volvo has been known as a pioneer in safety innovation. The spirit continues to live in its newest models equipped with the latest Pilot Assist, Blind Spot Information System (BLISTM), 360-deg camera, and Collision Administration Technology to protect drivers, passengers, and other road users.

Finally, regarding the price of OTR Jakarta, The Refreshed XC60 PHEV is priced at IDR 1.5 billion, Volvo XC60 MHEV IDR 1.25 billion, and Volvo XC90 MHEV is sold for IDR 1.75 billion. The three models can now be ordered through the official dealer Volvo Car Indonesia.
