JAKARTA Nissan has officially introduced an update for the 2026 Ariya, their flagship electric SUV, which is now appearing more modern with a new design inspired by the iconic Nissan Leaf hatchback.

This refresher is also a strategic step for the Japanese manufacturer in strengthening its position in the global electric vehicle segment. In terms of appearance, Ariya is now present with a cleaner and futuristic face.

The large black panel at the front was removed, replaced with the background light Nissan logo (back-lit) which appeared more assertive. The day light (daytime running light) is now curved with three distinctive lines that resemble the design of the latest generation Leaf.

Meanwhile, side air holes in the front fascia were also removed in order to produce a minimalist impression while increasing aerodynamic efficiency. As quoted from Autoexpress, Friday, October 10.

Not only exteriors, the interior side also gets a significant improvement. Nissan has buried the latest infotainment system now based on Google, as has been applied to the latest generation Leaf and Qashqai.

This system offers a more intuitive driving experience with direct integration to Google Maps and Google Assistant. In addition, the vehicle-to-load (V2L) feature is also embedded, allowing Ariya to be used as an external electrical resource for electronic devices outside the vehicle, practically working like a generator.

In terms of performance, Nissan Ariya 2026 still offers two battery options, namely 63 kWh and 87 kWh. The first variant is claimed to be able to cover a distance of up to 250 miles or about 402 kilometers, while the 87 kWh version has a distance of 329 miles or about 529 kilometers based on WLTP testing.

With these results, Ariya is still able to compete with competitors in the medium electric SUV segment. The latest version of Nissan Ariya's official launch is scheduled to take place at the Japan Mobility Show 2025 on October 29, and will go on sale on the Japanese market in the spring of 2026.

In comparison, in the UK market today, Nissan Ariya is sold starting at around 20,000, or equivalent to IDR 400 million. With more up-to-date design and technology updates, Nissan Ariya 2026 is predicted to be one of the most interesting electric SUVs in its class.
