MG Cyber X Ready To Produce, This Box-Style Electric SUV Reportedly Present 2027

JAKARTA - MG looked stunning at the Shanghai 2025 Auto last April by presenting a Cyber X concept car, an offroad futuristic SUV. Now, MG Cyber X is reportedly ready for mass production. With a boxy and unique design, this car is predicted to be an affordable choice for consumers. Cyber X is expected to arrive on the market in 2027.

This electric SUV is likely to use the MG parent company's E3 platform, SAIC, which is also the base of China's newest MG4. Although it looks similar to a premium car, MG Cyber X will not be a direct competitor to Land Rover Defender or Mercedes G-Class. On the other hand, the car is intended for buyers looking for more economical options, targeting markets inhabited by Ford Puma and Jeep Fighter. The always competitive MG price philosophy will be maintained in this model.

The exterior appearance of the production Cyber X will retain the design of the box and the firm angle of its concept, but with some adjustments for cost efficiency. For example, futuristic pop-up lights will be replaced with conventional lights and the turn-on MG logo will likely be removed. The interior part will adhere to a minimalist design with a large touchscreen and a digital instrument cluster, similar to the MG4.

With a variety of advanced features and interesting designs, MG Cyber X is expected to attract a new buyer segment to this brand. David totaled his belief that this model would be a strong attraction in the UK market and have a unique appeal.
