JAKARTA - Jeep lovers were shocked by the latest leaked information about Jeep Cherokee 2026. Accidentally, Jeep's official website published important details about the hybrid powertrain that will be the mainstay of this compact SUV.

Jeep plans to officially release Cherokee 2026 in the near future, with sales projected to start at the end of the year

The most interesting news is the presence of a new hybrid engine that will become standard. Reported by Car and Driver, Thursday, August 14, Jeep Cherokee 2026 will be equipped with a 1.6 liter four-cylindrical turbo engine combined with an electrification system. This combination is claimed to be capable of achieving combined fuel consumption of up to 38 mpg or about 16 km/liters of very competitive numbers in its segment.

To keep a tough character typical of Jeep, the all-wheel drive driving system will be standard. The model is equipped with a 4x4 Jeep Active Drive I system, while the Trailhawk variant gets additional special equipment for more extreme offroad capabilities.

Although details of performance such as manpower and torque have not been revealed, Jeep said Cherokee 2026 was able to attract a load of up to 3,500 pounds (around 1,587 kg), providing flexibility for those who like to adventure by bringing additional equipment.

The SUV will come in several trims from Base, Laredo, Limited, Overland, and Trailhawk with a wide selection of colors from classic nuances such as Bright White and Diamond Black, to unique colors such as Hydro Blue and military green called 41.

The return of the big name Cherokee after being absent since 2023 is expected to boost sales of Jeeps. The combination of fuel efficiency from hybrid technology, modern features, and legendary off-road capabilities makes Cherokee 2026 predicted to be a strong opponent for Honda CR-V Hybrid and Toyota RAV4 Hybrid.
