Toyota Corolla Legendary Sedan Gets Updates For Model 2026

Jakarta One of the most popular sedans in the global market, namely Toyota Corolla, will soon come with several improvements to the 2026 model.

Unfortunately, the changes to one of the best-selling cars of all time are not radical even though the current Toyota Corolla design since 2019 (with a refresher in 2023) is starting to look a little out of date amid intense competition. However, with competitive prices and reputation for the undisputed reliability of the Toyota brand, Corolla still offers a strong value in the compact sedan market.

Reporting from the Toyota USA page, Friday, April 25, the Toyota Corolla sedan and Corolla Hybrid model in 2026 will be upgraded to standard safety technology and features. This update demonstrates Toyota's commitment to democratizing features previously available only at higher trim levels, making it an attractive choice for car hunters with limited budgets who do not want to sacrifice modern comfort.

For the gasoline model, Toyota Corolla 2026 will remain one of the most affordable vehicles from Toyota with the addition of standard features such as blind spot monitoring with the help of rear traffic assistance. In addition, LE and SE models are now standard with a 7.0-inch digital instrument cluster, a feature previously exclusive to the 2025 XSE trim.

The XSE model will remain at the top of the lineup with an upgraded 12.3-inch gauge display, which will also be an option on the trim SE. Meanwhile, the FX Edition sedan variant will no longer be available for 2026, replaced by the Corolla Hatchback model of the same name.

Mechanically, gasoline corolla doesn't change much. The four-cylindrical 2.0 liter engine remains the only option, paired with continuous variable transmission (CVT) with 10 precessel tooth ratios. The machine generates 169 hp and 205 Nm, offers sufficient performance and impressive fuel efficiency 13.60 km/l on urban roads, 17.43 km/l on toll roads, and 14.88 km/l combinations.

Corolla Hybrid: Value And Efficiency Maintained

Toyota Corolla Hybrid 2026 also received the same increase in digital instrument clusters. Trim LE and SE will have a 7.0-inch unit, while XLE gets a 12.3-inch unit.

mechanically, Corolla Hybrid still relies on a 1.8 liter four cylinder engine paired with an electric continuous variable transmission with 138 hp power and a fuel efficient with a usage of 22.53 km/l in the city, 19.56 km/l on toll roads, and 21.26 km/l combination.

Toyota Corolla 2026 will be present at Toyota dealers this fall. The Retail Price, which is recommended by Manufacturers (HET), does not include processing and dealer handling costs, will start from US$22,725 (equivalent to Rp371 million) for LE type.
