JAKARTA A new competitor from China is ready to make a new offer for the automotive world. His name is Shangjie, a collaborative brand between automotive giant SAIC and Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance (HIMA) led by Huawei. Recently, Shangjie heated competition by releasing its first car teaser.
The presence of this teaser immediately stole the attention after Richard Yu, Executive Director of Huawei as well as CEO of Terminal BG, posted a statement on social media: "Shangjie is here! Look forward to this fall! Great smart driving, with blue lights!" The limit is not just promotion. This is a sign of the presence of advanced technology that will be Shangjie's mainstay.
Shangjie's official launch is scheduled to take place this fall. There are not many details yet revealed, but this initial teaser is enough to make the public speculate: will Shangjie become a new pioneer in the era of smart electric cars at a competitive price?
Futuristic Design and Sophisticated Features

Unlike many new cars that adopt a patch door handle, Shangjie still uses a traditional handle a unique decision that breaks predictions based on previous spy photos. On the back, the design remains minimalist, likely to reflect the front display with a back light styled through-type.
As a product that carries the big name Huawei, technology is certainly the main focus. LiDAR on the roof is said to be Huawei's own 192-line unit, supported by the latest generation 4D millimeter-wave radar. This combination promises a very sophisticated semi-autonomous driving experience.
However, this feature is likely only available in the upper variant. According to a Mydrivers report, Shangjie will be sold at prices ranging from 150,000 to 250,000 yuan (around 20,70034,500 USD). The lower and middle variance is likely to carry a camera-based ADS SE (vision-centric) solution.
Not only about exteriors and performance, Shangjie will also be equipped with a HarmonyOS-based smart cockpit, Huawei's flagship operating system. Drivers will enjoy advanced digital experiences such as multi-screen interactions, a large model AI-based voice assistant, to seamless vehicle connections.
