Chery Tiggo Cross Hybrid CSH Debuts In Neighboring Countries, Prices Start At IDR 380 Million

Chery officially launched the Tiggo Cross in Malaysia which comes with its newest technology, the Chery Super Hybrid (CSH).

Quoting from the Paultan page, Thursday, July 10, the Tiggo Cross, which is present in the neighboring country, is a local production, and comes in two variants starting from the 1.5 Turbo engine which is priced at 88,800 ringgit or IDR 340 million, as well as the CSH variant which touched the price of 99,800 ringgit or IDR 381 million.

In terms of engines, Turbo is equipped with a four-cylinder gasoline engine with a turbocharged 1.5 liter engine that produces 147 PS power and 210 Nm torque, with a driving force that is channeled to the front wheels through a six-speed double coupling transmission. The machine allows acceleration of 0-100 km/hour in 10.3 seconds in Sport mode.

For the Hybrid variant, the powertrain (also FWD) is based on a 1.5 liter naturally assisted inline four gasoline engine which produces 102 PS power and 125 Nm torque. This machine is combined with Direct Hybrid Transmission (DHT) which has two electric motors integrated with 204 PS power and 310 Nm torque.

The CSH system embedded in the Tiggo Cross is the same as the Tiggo 8 in Indonesia, which is a parallel system which means it can run by using electricity alone, parallel to Direct Engine (the engine immediately drives the wheels at speeds above 80 km/hour), and Energy Recovery (regenerative and acceleration operators to charge the battery).

The lithium iron phosphate (LFP) 1.8 kWh battery placed under the trunk floor is connected to an electric motor and reduces the cargo room of the Hybrid variant to 350 liters.

In dimensions, the Tiggo Cross has a length of 4,318 mm, a width of 1,830 mm, a height of 1,670 mm, and a wheelbase of 2,610 mm, which makes it slightly smaller overall than the Omoda 5.

Different versions with Indonesia

For the Indonesian market itself, the Tiggo Cross is only offered in gasoline engines. However, CSH technology is available for other models, namely the Tiggo 8 CSH. The presence of the CSH variant on the Tiggo Cross is certainly a question mark whether the model will also be present in Indonesia? Given that Chery plans to launch several models at the GIIAS 2025 event.
