JAKARTA - Audi inaugurated the global launch of the third generation Q3 with significant changes, replacing the previous version that had existed since 2018.

Audi AG CEO Gernot Dollner said the presence of the latest generation Q3 is expected to continue the positive trend that has been built by this series for a long time until it has sold more than 2 million units worldwide cumulatively.

"With a total of more than two million vehicles sold worldwide since the launch of the first generation, Audi Q3 has been one of our best-selling models and has a high status in our product portfolio. The presence of this third generation, we update the family of important models as part of our product initiative and strengthen our product lineup with powerful plug-in hybrids and efficient combustion engines," Dollner was quoted as saying on the manufacturer's official website, Wednesday, June 18.

The latest generation Audi Q3 has a more assertive design than ever. This is thanks to the use of a single frame goal that adorns the front end and is flanked by a separate light unit.

According to the manufacturer, the car has a Daytime Running Lights system that has a pixel design with 23 segments per side.

The next-generation Q3 has an LED Digital Matrix headlights located below and has a micro-LED that promises a significant increase in light.

The side has more firm and muscular curvature lines, thereby increasing the strong and tough impression on this car. This is accompanied by a choice of 17 to 20 inches of rims that are 20 mm wider than ever before.

Firm and expressive impressions are also displayed on the back by embedding digital OLED lighting with a more sporty back pillar.

Moving inward, Audi designed its interior to prioritize futuristic and minimalist sides by removing physical buttons and conventional pressneling levers.

The pressneling lever is now placed on the right side of the steering wheel, so drivers don't have to bother moving their hands to the center console to move the transmission.

Audi Q3 is designed more modern with a large screen that combines an 11.9-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12.8-inch infotainment system.

In order to give an impression that is not monotonous, the interior has been paired with 300 laser cut holes which are separated into five segments to leave the impression of dynamic lighting.

Another highlight is that the latest Q3 has a 12-speaker from Sonos and an AI-enhanced assistant system, which appears as an avatar on the infotainment system.

In addition, it has adopted environmentally friendly materials including the use of Impressum fabrics made of 100 percent recycled polyesters and floor mats made of Econyl.

The material is recycled nylon fiber made from old fishing nets, used carpets, and industrial waste.

For the bottom of the front hood, this car is available in pure gasoline, diesel, and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) options.

The initial variant is equipped with a 1.5 liter 4-cylinder TFSI engine powered by 148 hp which accompanies the option of 2.0 liter 4-cylinder TFSI with 261 hp.

For diesel options, the latest Audi Q3 has a TDI engine powered by 148 cellphones and a 360 Nm peak torque combined with a seven-speed S tronic transmission with a front wheel drive.

Another option available is the PHEV driver who combines gasoline engines along with electric motors and batteries with a capacity of 25.7 kWh.

Although details have not been disclosed, the battery is claimed to be able to make the car run with pure power as far as 119 km in a single full charge and can charge with a DC fast charging of 50 kW.

This allows it to charge electrical energy to batteries from 10 to 80 percent in less than 30 minutes.

Confirmed that the latest generation Audi Q3 will be assembled at two brand-owned factories, precisely in Ingolstadt, Germany and Gyor, Hungary.

Starting to launch in Germany in October this year, the car was sold for an initial price of 44,600 euros, equivalent to IDR 840.7 million.
