Honda Launches Civic Type R Ultimate Edition, A Form Of Iconic Hatchback Separation In Europe

JAKARTA - Honda has officially introduced Civic Type R Ultimate Edition, a special edition of a high-performance hatchback for the European market.

This car comes specially because it is available on a limited basis of only 40 units as well as a farewell to Civic Type R on the blue continent after showing its existence for 28 years.

"We think it is appropriate to give Civic Type R the most special closing with this special edition model that offers a unique opportunity for our customers to celebrate its legacy," said Head of European Strategy and Product Honda Motor Europe, Hannah Swift, on the manufacturer's official website, Saturday, June 7.

Honda had to take steps to end the existence of the Civic Type R due to increasingly strict regulations on the European continent, especially in terms of carbon emissions.

"This industry continues to change, and our lineup of models must evolve in accordance with European law. However, Type R has always been Honda's main expression of our desire to enjoy the sensation of driving, and we look forward to celebrating its legacy in the coming weeks and months," added Hannah.

This car comes in particular with the iconic exterior color of the Championship White, which is decorated by a red line sticker attached to the engine hood.

The roof has also been painted black plus carbon details in several parts, including front spoilers and door decorations.

Moving to the interior, this special edition of Civic Type R has a carbon themed section like a center console panel. Another unique thing is that when the user opens the car door, an iconic "Type R" logo projector will appear.

For the buyer of these 40 cars, they are entitled to a unique gift box in the form of a emblem containing numbers ranging from 1 to 40 according to their respective unit numbers.

Other items in this gift box are carbon key hangers and there are custom floor mats and car covers.

Despite having a special touch on the exterior to the interior, the manufacturer with the "H" logo is perpendicular to maintaining the engine and performance of the special edition Civic Type R.

Armed by a 2.0 liter 4-cylinder engine of the VTEC turbo, Civic Type R provides a power boost of 329 ps and 420 Nm torque. This is assisted by the single option of manual transmission of six accelerations. With the performance of the engine and transmission, this car can have impressive performance from 0 to 100 km/hour in 5.4 seconds.

Unfortunately, Honda has not mentioned details regarding the price of Civic Type R Ultimate Edition. However, it is certain that this car will stop selling in Europe in 2026.
