JAKARTA - Tesla Cybertruck is designed to attract the attention of many people because of its striking design and its sophistication, one of which has ultra-hard stainless steel exoskeletons and bullet-proof glass.
But the bad news is now being reached by Tesla, according to a report from Carscoops, quoted on Saturday, April 19, Tesla is reportedly adjusting production (Cybertruck) because it has too much stock and is not enough buyers.
Although Tesla CEO Elon Musk once boasted that the electric pickup had more than a million reservations, the brand only sold around 50,000 units until March this year.
This figure means Tesla has more stock, and needs to take next steps including reducing production of the Cybertruck and that seems to be done by Tesla.
According to a report from Business Insider, Tesla has quietly reduced its Cybertruck production team by more than half. The report cites information from two employees who are aware of the matter, and has even lowered its production target since December 2024.
The unnamed employee also revealed that several staff had been transferred to another production line, namely Model Y, which currently still has quite strong demand.
"It feels like they are screening people, the parking lot is getting quieter," said the employee.
The report illustrates that Tesla Cyeberttruck is less in demand, it is also in line with what the brand is doing, which recently introduced the lowest or cheapest version of Cybertruck with a rear wheel drive only.
